what is thermal imaging?

Thermal imaging is a non-invasive diagnostic technique which facilitates the visualisation and allows us to quantify changes in the surface temperature of electrical switchgear. Infrared cameras convert surface heat into electrical impulses. These impulses are mapped as colours which represent various temperatures. Thermal imaging identifies equipment flaws and pinpoints any hot spots often invisible to the naked eye.
